Oh my, November has not been a good blogging month for me.

Lots of work related stress, family trouble (just small things, don’t worry) and some flu-ish illness (I’m not sure what it was, but we’ve all been on and off it a few times).

But I am feeling better now. Still a bit tired, but I’m slowly starting to find joy in cleaning the house again (and boy, it was time too). I’m looking forward to celebrating Sinterklaas, a birthday and Christmas.

And I’m hoping to share a picture of our December with you every weekday. So, see you tomorrow!

Oh, the windmill? That’s the house of someone I interviewed last week.  Thought you might like it. Someday I’m going to ask him if I can take a look inside his home. It must be really special…

It was a wonderful, sunny day. So much fun to see all these children loving this tradtional welcoming of Sinterklaas! I was a little sad to remember the time I took my kids to see him, but taking pictures of the event (twice – in two villages) was good too.

More Sinterklaas-pictures by me: here and here.

Taken at 4:05 this afternoon. Yes, there is a reason these days are called the dark days before Christmas…

I went to the thrifshop to find something completely different (a smal tv for the girls), but I found this happy bunch of lace, and some great fabric. Now I wish I would find some time to actually do something with it…

Oh my, has it been so long since my last post?
I’m so sorry!
Since last week I’ve written about 30.000 words on my thriller. And then I decided I didn’t like it very much. It is readable, but not the pageturner I was aiming for. So, I’m going to start again soon.
I do try to keep writing everyday (but not that much anymore, I already did the NaNoWriMo challenge, in only 11 days). So now I’m returning to a romance novel I was working on. Somehow that’s a lot easier on me. I’m not sure the bloody scary writing really is my cup of tea.

Amidst all this writing there was little time for anything else. I haven’t touched my camera for anything else than work, I was too focused on words instead of images. Also there was no crafting at all.
I am trying to find a rhythm in this, doing a little writing everyday, but not that obsessed anymore. I really would like to be more zen about things, but instead it seems there is always something I am obsessed with. Fun, but tiring on the long run.

Anyway… I hope to return to somewhat regular blogging soon.

:: looking at the last leaves falling off the trees

:: thinking how great it is to see that nature is already promising good things for another spring (lots of buds in that tree!)

:: being happy for our neighbors who are finally welcoming their little ones home (ten weeks after they were born)

:: adjusting to being a writer (meaning I’m finding time each day to write an exiting new story)

:: quite happy with my life

:: wishing you a good weekend!

My oldest daughter is training to become a make-up artist. One of the courses she has to take is hairstyling. She needed to buy a whole set of brushes and combs, but they all came seperate. She has been carrying them around in a toilet bag, but she hated to have to dig around for the right comb. So she asked me to make “something” for it.
How can I refuse? So I made a wrap, similar to the needle holder I made two years ago, only with a strap to close it. I hope she likes it!

Too many again… I just can’t stop buying books. Luckily mostly at thrift shops, so the problem is purely storage, not money.
